Jason Magabo Perez Selected as a Poet Laureate for the City of San Diego

 

The Bulosan Center for Filipinx Studies would like to congratulate our community artist Jason Magabo Perez on being selected as a Poet Laureate for the City of San Diego. Perez is a writer, performer, teacher and the author of the hybrid collection of poetry and prose This is for the mostless (WordTech Editions, 2017).

Grand Opening: "California is in the Heart," An Exhibition on Filipinx Californians at the California Museum

The Bulosan Center is very excited to announce the grand opening of the "California is in the Heart," exhibition at the California Museum on October 29, 2022 at 1:00PM. This is the very first time that the museum has hosted an exhibition that highlights the contributions of the Filipinx community to the state of California. We are very proud that the Bulosan Center for Filipinx Studies was invited to serve as a co-curator. 

Bulosan Center 2021-2022 Annual Report Released

 

Yesterday the Bulosan Center for Filipinx Studies released our Annual Report for the 2021-2022 year. We provide updates on our Research and recent publications, Policy and Community Engagement events, and Archive and Public History exhibits. We also detail our accomplishments in our scholarly presentations, as well as in our internship program, and our Founding Director addresses the state of our Center and beloved community.
